  • Got engaged!!

Wow, it's been a while since last time I wrote this!! well, I was pretty busy last 2 months. I composed music for violincello for the concert on November 9th, and I had a training at highschool to get a highschool teacher license. I taught 8 music classes everyweek for 3 weeks that was very fun. AND....after those things... I GOT ENGAGED with JONATHAN!!!!!! It was such a big surprise for me. of course we'd talked about marriage things a little and I was guessing Jon might propose me in a year or so, but not so soon! He was very sneaky so I didn't know he'd already asked my father. So actually it seems like all my family knew it except me

It was on last Saturday, we went to one day trip to Shosenkyo in Yamanashi, that is 3 hours away from our town by a special express train. It was the trip Jonathan& I planned 3 months ago because I'd kept saying to Jonathan 'Let's go visit there in Autumn!!'. The place is famous with beautiful Autumn Colors where we can see the beautiful colors only in October. So we went there and saw such beautiful sights in nature, and in the colors we had lunch I made And after lunch Jon stole my pink flower ring which I wear sometimes, so I punched him to get it back. and after some more punches, he gave me a ring back into my hand. But the ring I've got back was much more shiny and had diamond on. But since it was too sudden, somehow I thought it's just a joke. So I laughed and almost punched him again. But it was not a joke! He put his knee on the ground in rain and proposed me.

My family, are SO HAPPY with us getting married. I'm glad that my dad really likes Jon and even my old brother is so excited about it and he keeps e-mailing me for a few days to say Congratulations

Tonight, Jon is coming to my house and we and my parents will have meeting of our marriage Jon is going to cook his original curry for us which is so good. Please pray for me and Jonathan that we do all things to please God. God bless you all.

  • Losing weight, Jon is too.

Oh dear, seems like Jon is updating things well so maybe I don't have to do this, but I have to learn English so I'll keep doing this.

Summer is over here in Japan. It's still not like Autumn yet but we get a nice air and some winds in the evening. And soon we will get to see lots of colors around I think Autmn is the best time to visit Japan because of the colors. Cherry-blossom in Spring is pretty too though. I'm looking forward to go to Shousenkyo in Yamanashi, the beautiful place of colors and take pictures of it. hmm... that's the only thing I'm looking forward to. I've been very busy and kind of stress with lots of stuff like getting jobs for after graduation, composing, getting a teacher license, sunday school thing, and helping people around. I like helping people but it sometimes becomes hard to do with joy especially when I'm tired&stressed with busy schedule and not have time to do things I like to do. So I have to be careful with my attitude and some good scriptures to be a real servant for people, not just a servant looking person.

Jon is losing his weight and building his muscle. It seems like the sports club program is good for Jon's health. He's very busy with language school because he's trying to finish the first textbook in a month. The textbook usually takes learners 3 to 6 months to finish He's been learning lots of new words and idioms so it's fun to hear some new Japanese words from him everytime I meet him. I hope he doesn't get sick by working to hard on Japanese

Lately Jon and I talk about church planting thing, and also where to take his family and friends when they come visit Japan. I hope lots of Jon's friends and family come visit Japan near future Everyone's welcomed.

  • Sayonara summer

ooh, it's been a while since last time I wrote on xanga. Here in Japan, summer is almost done. It's not hot anymore, and I can hear autumn insects' singing. This summer was very long for me. I mean I felt it long. One reason is I had lots of stuff to do like teaching music jobs, sunday school teaching, church music stuff, and some school stuff, but having my boyfriend Jonathan here was very new for me that's why I guess I felt this summer long. It's a big blessing to spend time with him and helping him with lots of stuff has been fun too. Though sometimes it makes me tired a little because I'm not used to have him here so I tend to try to be nice to him too much, everything is very nice after 3 year long distance with him

Anyway, let's think about this summer... what I learned through this summer is ...
    1. doing sports is not so bad actually fun

    2. Christians are strong because of the name of Jesus. One of my student's mother has a womb cancer problem, her womb was taken away two months ago, she takes anticancer treatment so she lost most of her hair already. She's still 40 and she has two kids who are 10 and 6 years old. But she is a Christian. So do her husband and kids. So they're not afraid. She just keeps doing houseworking as much as she can, showing plenty of love to kids and husband, laugh a lot, she's like sunshine. Because God shows His bright smile toward her.

    3. God really answeres our prayers perfectly. I've gotten His answers a lot this summer, sometimes it was like getting a new teaching job right after I asked for it or getting a greatest cellist for my music be played in November, sometimes it was like being taught what I have to do even if that's not I want to do, sometimes forgiving persons, sometimes beeing seen my weakness. So it was not always just 'Thank you God!!' but hard a little, but through all answers from God what I've gotten in my heart were full of peace each time. God is so good, so clever, strong and so sweet.

Jonathan's new language school has just started. It's the school that he goes to monday-friday for 4 or 5 hours each day. He's going to be very busy! Another thing is that he attends our church's prayer meeting. It's all in Japanese so it must be hard for him though. And he also started going to a sports club with our friends Kazuya&Mayumi. I think he's good at being friends with Japanese people. And that's something good about him as a missionary because good friendship is the first step for telling the gospel. Tomorrow he will come visit our house, I'm going to cook something yummy for him! ok, let's go to sleep.

  • lots of stuff last three weeks

It's been a while since last time I updated. I had lots of events and stuff over here. Jon's doing good. It seems like he got used to life in japan especially lots of train rides, humid air and food, such kinds of stuff. I guess cultural differences are harder for him to feel comfortable with, but it's fun for me to hear what differences between Japan and America he noticed each day since I don't know American culture well. It's very interesting that how different american ways and japanese ones to feel&think about stuff. So we're kind of enjoying exploring it together.

Most of what Jonathan does over here is going to language school for a few hours each day, helping churches, being friends with Japanese Christians (it seems lke he's better at making friends than me even though he doesn't know so many japanese words yet). By the way, our church had 5 day VBS that was half English classes and half bible classes for kids, and the missionary Mr. J.Robison came and helped us. I think he is very good at being friends with children. He didn't come to the last day because he had to help his church's VBS, and the children were disappointed like 'where is Jon?' 'Will he come soon?'

Well, I put lots of pictures this time, since our church had a wedding and a party, and Jon took me to Odaiba (nice area downtown tokyo) to cerebrate 3 year (3 months??) anniversary of our relationship, and my brother moved to NY.

  • El Torito!

Well, it was last sunday, my boyfriend Jonathan's birthday. SEND's missionaries Mr. and Mrs. Loewen who are working with my church, and who are kind of Jon's boss I guess, they reserved El Torito for Jon's birthday dinner. We have El Torito here in tokyo too. Mexican food is not so popular here though. Anyway, so I got to eat lots of chips and salsa! my favorite snack in the world. I've thought he was a very lucky guy to have a wonderful, warm, big family but it seems like he is also a lucky guy to get such a nice boss here in Japan too. I'll put the picture of the time. Jaa mata.
